There is no doubt that there are legions of classified sites and
FFA pages on the net who can be utilized, but how much this is
worth is a big questions. Traffic is coming mostly from search
engines or links/recipocal links, for that manner.

However, classified sites within a special thematic may well
respond to your ad if this one is designed properly. I have some
tips below on how to do this.

By submitting to classifieds or FFA sites you might want to use a
submission program rather than trying to visit each site by your
own. The time saved for this could be well spent better for other
promotional work such as promoting your site to specialized
portals or search engines.

While I'm not listing commercial submission tools in this letter,
I have nevertheless included some free online submission tools
found on the net. You might try them and watch out for any
result, although the number of sites you can submit to with these
tools are usual much lower than with the commercial ones.

The Free Classified List below is a good entry point for posting
classifieds as they give you some information about the
classified sites itself.

I don't have listed every classfied site under the sun (say net)
in this letter (this would be impossible and useless), rather I
show you where you can start your search. From there, the world
of classifieds (or FFA's) is open for you.

Don't be surprised if your energy devoted to classifieds is
actually less productive than the same energy devoted to forums
and discussion groups.word, Especially if you have anything
useful to say (in opposite to just posting an ad). But don't post
ad's into usegroups, as this is regarded quite rude in the most
cases and more than unwanted.

The other downside to classifieds or FFA sites is that it opens
you up to many undesireable spam mailings. Anytime you're using
classifieds, FFA's or other untested services (such as new
usegoups) use a web based e-mail service such as yahoo, hotmail,
usa.net or iname just ot name a few.

In most cases, though, I think classifieds and FFA's are not
worth their attention in general. Especially regarding FFA pages
I think nowadays nobody is going to visit them anymore. At least,
I believe, not in the way as it was still common a few years ago.

In all of your marketing and promotion effort, your time is
limited and you may try other, more promising kind of
advertisments first. But if you have done everything allready,
you may spend your time with classifieds. Classified ads at a
busy classified site might be still a way to go.

Of course, if you are a visitor rather than a promoter of a site,
you might try some of the more popular classifieds sites such as
from AOL or the ones listed below. It may be difficult to find
the items or services you are looking for as the classifeds or
FFA sites do not always include search faclities. Best is, you
are visiting classified sites conzentrating soley on your
particular interests.

P.S. It's rather difficult to list the best classifieds or FFA
sites as there are too many on the net and as there are not
reliable information on the net which one is actually a better
one, but we have tried our best with the links listed above.
